I think it depends on what area you're in and, that even includes in your own city. I've used three of these carriers at some point. In my city Verizon is not that fast by my house but, very fast on the North side. Wimax, which sprint uses, is not as fast as Verizon but, it seems more consistant everywhere. T-mobile has recorded the fastest speeds but, the coverage is not as vast as Verizon.

T-mobile's HSPA+ max speed I've recored was 14Mbps, WiMax(Sprint) 10Mbps and, Verizon 9Mbps. I agree with the article about Verizon, I have a MiFi and, if it locks on a 3G signal sometimes it will stay on 3G or, take awhile switching to LTE, even if it's available in the area.

They all have their advantages and disadvantages. The one thing I noticed though, if you have at least 6Mbps consistently, you can stream just about anything.
