Unable to connect to Google Servers?

Long story short...I have a Wifii only Xoom with 3.2, stock not rooted. Recently my Wifi icon went grey. I am able to get online and use browsers. I can access my Gmail account thru a browser,but cannot if I press the app icon. Unable to get into the Android Market, Amazon app store. How do I get the wifi icon blue again? Previous searches states I may not be hooked to the Google servers. I have messed with the account, sync settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the router settings etc...I am completely perplexed with this scenario. Is anyone out there able to help, or give some advice as to where to locate help? thanks

Do you have a static IP or DHCP reservation? If so, delete and try pure dhcp
