Hi.
I'm planning on rooting, and was wondering on how you can actually
Backup your stock from, on your XOOM, prior to the root process.

Is there an non root backup?

It does a basic backup without root, or it used too. With root it does a more thorough backup. I will kill again to make sure.

Do you know if you if have to do oem unlock on your model?

Not sure.
Though, does titanium backup to SD card, and would an standard ROM be around 100mb in size?
I only have an 512mb card........
Which I never used until now..

You need a larger card for sure. At least equal to memory on the xoom, to do a full backup.

Sorry, but TB do sent work...
And the backup option is only present in the paid-version, because I need to root first.
Is there another app, similar to TB that can backup ROM without root?
Is there an backup-app that can save it to an PC?

I will get an bigger SD card soon.....
Hopefully, the original 512mb card I use with my XOOM,
came with my MOTOQ, though never used the SD with it, and didnt
want it gathering dust.
Also, I just want to backup the ROM, do I need really need an 16-32GB card?
Or is 8GB or even 2GB enough?

It should be at least the total of the internal storage used plus about 100mb.

No real backup for non root phones. You could just backup the data itself, then reinstall apps then move data back after your done rooting or installing ROM.

If you have to do an OEM unlock, it tests the device...that was a warning I never saw.

What do you mean by test?
Also, I need an 32GB card?
Finally, I backup my rom via TB, root it, the reinstall?
For root, have you tried or recommend LordAIO tool?
Its made by an Xda Developer, and it roots the XOOM, and X10, via an script, automatically for you.
Also, instead of backing up my ROM is there an ROM for an Australian ICS XOOM MZ604 ROM?
On Motorola's site, it shows defy and RAZR, but there is also ICS R1 and R2, what RoM is this device for?

I meant it wipes the device...not sure how test got there.

You need too look at How much you use right now on the internal memory. Look at storage for that. You need a card that will fit the used storage our just copy it on to your PC.

I'm using around 4-8gb of storage.
Eg- Only 28GB of available of storage.

Sent from my MZ604 using Android Central Forums

Then 8gb should be fine. If your worried about data, you can just copy your data to your pc or mac, then you don't need a memory card for that. One image I have is 150mb, so your current card would work for that.

Thanks for clearing that up. I remember when TB had some features available to non-root
devices. So, I guess I will root, and look online for ROMs, if I screw up.
Have you tried an automated root app like XOOT or LordAiO tool made by XDAmembers?
For root, I need an SD card?
