Rooting Question

Is there any added value or advantage if you root your Xoom? I am all about maximizing the device.

If you root and install a custom kernel, you can overclock to 1.5GHz, use the micro SD card slot, use USB host and mount as mass storage.

You also gain the other benefits of rooting, like backing up with ClockworkMod recovery and access to the whole filesystem.

So *overclocking* improves performance? I am sort of savvy but out of my league on things like: rooting, overclocking and other Xoom goodies. I really do appreciate the assistance.
