Hardware Keyboard Options? Double Tap Inserts Period

I'm new to Android. Through the convoluted menus and settings on the Mytouch Slide, I don't find any options for the hardware keyboard. I came from Blackberry (5 years) and need my beloved double space inserts period. My brother said his Droid does it so I'm sure it's possible in Android. The software keyboard does this too, but I gotta have my physical keyboard.

Double space period insert for the hardware keyboard works for me on my myTouch Slide. Try going to Settings > Language & Keyboard > Touch Input > Text Input and under the "Hardware QWERTY" section turn on Prediction and Spell Correction and see if it works then. If it doesn't I don't know how I got it to work on mine.

That was it! Thanks so much. I didn't see the subtitle for the hardware keyboard settings. That also added the apostraphes too. Feels like home now.
