    Hi,
Recently I got really pissed on Apple for not fixing my MBP so I decided to go to my roots - linux. Android is more open so why not make a switch there (currently I use iPhone 6S Plus).

Probably I'm going to ask some questions about Android<->Linux and choosing the device. I would prefer not to support the big corps.

    Cheers
    J

Welcome to the fun. There's lots to choose from with Android, but you may be hard pressed to not support a big corporation in your purchase. Devices are split primarily between big corp manufacturers with good phones (Samsung, LG, Motorola, etc), and the cheap no name Chinese knockoffs that are often infected with malware baked into the OS or just don't work well. There's very little in between.

Ok I do have couple options for now:
    - Fairphone - I like the idea but the phone is old https://www.fairphone.com/en/
    - OnePlus - new but expensive, is it really underdog? https://www.oneplus.com/
    - Ulefone Armor 2 - cheap, cheap, cheap and robust https://productz.com/en/ulefone-armor-2

Have you consider the new Moto G7 or the Plus version, depending where you live?

Welcome to Android Central! You are not alone here - quite a few users here have switched from iPhone to Android and have loved the change!

I too would recommend OnePlus. They make excellent smartphones. They don't call OnePlus"the flagship killer" for nothing! Let us know what you decide!

Welcome back to the good side (jk). I switched from an iPhone back in November of 2018. While I didn't have any problems with apple as a whole, I find their interface very oppressed in terms of lack of customization, stupid os updates, iTunes (oh the horror lol) and I'm sure there's more but I can't think of anything right now.

I'd recommend and looking at the various Android based phones. That's what I like about Android, there's a phone for everyone it seems like. You got Samsung Galaxy, LG, HTC, OnePlus, And lots of makes and models. Have fun picking one out. I hope you find a phone that will fit your needs.

    Also welcome to AC.
