apps from nexus 10 to Galaxy S4

I've just purchased a nexus 10 and a galaxy S4. when I download an app from play store on either device it has sync to all app on both devices but not installed and I have to manually install them. Is this normal or can I alter a setting so they download automatically.

It's normal. The devices are separate. You could get an app like "Backup and Restore". This could backup all apps on one and then you can restore what you want on the other. The install still has to happen but it is fast.
