Can CyanogenMod be installed easily via Google Play?
A long time ago there was a lot of news about CyanogenMod being installed from Google Play, but I sort of lost track of how that played out. The last thing I remember seeing or reading was that the app was removed from Google Play because it violated some Terms of Service or something like that. Did that ever play out? There are a whole bunch of CyanogenMod apps on Google Play and I can't really tell if any of those are the official CyanogenMod installer that was in the works last year.
Is it possible to install a alternative ROM from Google Play, be it CyanogenMod or any other, or do you still have to know how to flash it to your Nexus 4. Thanks.

Google removed the CM installer app. You can still easily install CM on supported devices using a computer (CM installer or download ROM to computer). Another option is using the ROM installer in ROM Toolbox app if the device is already rooted and has custom recovery. ROM installer will show available ROMs that you can download and install.

Do you lose factory reset option on a Nexus 4 if you install it using a computer and CM installer. I mean, I know you can always reset to stock if you know how to flash, but if you don't know how to flash will you still retain the ability to do a factory reset from settings or the "hard" factory reset using volume rocker and power button?

CM has a factory reset option in the settings.

Re: Can CyanogenMod be installed easily via Google Play?
Okay, I installed CM 11 using the Windows CM installer. It was pretty easy. I had a couple of questions:
1. What happens if I do a Settings >>>> Backup & reset >>>> Fastory data reset?
Does it restore me the Nexus 4 stock 4.4 or does it restore to CM 11?
2. What happened to the stock widgets?
In 4.4 if you go to all apps and can flip over to the stock widgets to the right like analog clock and everything else, but in CM 11 there aren't any widgets listed, only apps. Are they just not in CM 11?
Re: Can CyanogenMod be installed easily via Google Play?
Never mind about the widgets. Found them. But still curious about whether "factory reset" restores to stock 4.4 or CM 11.

Factory reset will erase your data and restore CM 11.

If unlocked, rooted, and in CM11 do I still get Android OTA updates?

Yeah, you can check for CM OTA updates in about phone. There should also be an option to automatically check and notify when OTA is available.

Not really the place to ask, but yes... Just jump over to CyanogenMod's wiki and search... Official support and stable versions even.

Only the dev version is listed. Not the standard.
