Re: new nexus official ac charger

I would be curious to hear everyone's opinion on the possibility of this charger charging faster than the stock N5 charger. My understanding from other threads was that the phone will not accept more charging amps than it's been designed to, therefore can anyone confirm that the phone will charge faster with this more powerful charger? If so what kind of time difference in charging might one expect?

Thanks

Yeah that's true I know it says it puts out 1.8 compared to 1.2 but is that really going to make a difference and can the nexus 5 actually take the charge faster.

Nothing scientific but it's definitely quicker. Worth 15 bucks...meh

If you have plenty of cables and chargers laying around stick with them. If you want a quicker charger and can spare 15 do it.

For those that have multiple devices, I picked up an 8a Anker charger for $26 to use with all my devices.

That's the one I'm talking about but from what I understand that wall charger and cable are the same ones that come with the wireless charging pad

For what it's worth, that power adapter, plug and cable look exactly like what came with my Nexus Wireless Charger. So, I'd assume the 47" measurement I mentioned earlier would apply. Also, the specs I see on mine say:

-- 9W Power Adapter
-- Model #AA1-AA
-- Input 100-240V ~ 0.35A 50-60Hz
-- Output 5V 1.8A

and that seems to match.

I currently use the blackberry playbook charger which has a 2.1 output, it charges my phone super fast and doesn't overheat my phone. And the playbook charger is cheaper on Amazon. It's a long wire and it chargers great and fast
