I keep getting a "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped" message when an app downloads or updates. Possibly related, or coincidental, I can't get any of my Google Play books to display. Carbon mentioned in a G+ community that they thought it may be related to a similar issue reported earlier about corrupted app file versions getting saved to the SD card. I couldn't find this thread. Wondering if anyone here may have come across this issue, and a possible fix.

I am also having the same problem since last two updates. Didn't had the problem initially.
Have you performed a full wipe and re-install of the ROM on the device? See if that helps. Also, I'm not sure if Carbon requires you to install a separate gapps package, but if it does, you may want to re-download and install that as well.

Let us know how it goes.
