[Sorry Part 2] The New Nexus 6P And 5X Won't Have Wireless Charging Either

According to the same trusted sources that we have been quoting all day, Google decided to skip wireless charging on both devices

That's definitely disappointing but not a deal breaker for me, especially if it starts at $379.99 like Android Police is reporting. That price will offset the cost of a couple extra USB-C cables.

I would have pre-ordered the 5X if it had wireless charging, but I guess I will stick with my N5 until I need to replace it. I think wireless charging is great.

I couldn't agree more. No wireless charging and the few other "downgrades" kill it for me.

I think wireless charging is a waste. I can pick up a call when plugged with a cable, can I make a call when charged wirelessly?

This didn't kill it for me, I never use it on my S6.

I was planning on buying on three conditions, nfc, wireless charging and 64 gb internal minimum. I am all set up for WC and I love it.
I don't think I will ever own a nexus at this rate.

    And here's why: https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/commen...th_the/cvjjnp0

HL> Thanks for being a Nexus fan! We added Qi wireless charging starting with N4 because plugging in USB micro B was such a hassle! (Which way is up!?) With this year’s Nexii, we support USB Type-C which has a reversible connector so there’s no more guessing. AND it charges incredibly swiftly: 1% to 100% in 97 mins on the 6P for example (the first ~45 mins of charging is especially fast). Meanwhile, wireless charging adds z (thickness). So, ease of plugging in + fast charging + optimizing for thinness made us double down on Type-C instead of wireless!
