I know some people preferred buying from Amazon instead of Google so here is your opportunity. Prices are the same and I imagine you cannot get Nexus Protect from them either but here you go.

It's also available from B&H, which may save some people from having to pay tax.

At least those that pre-ordered from Google and got a $50 Play credit can still feel good about it.

I thought Google's prices were subsidized. How are they able to sell it the same amount?

I have Amazon Prime, but since Amazon has a warehouse in my state I actually have to pay sales tax on anything that says "sold by, and ships from Amazon.com"

I am happy I got mine from the Google Store because I got it earlier, paid the same amount, and got the $50 in Google Play credit.

Also remember you can't buy Nexus protect unless you buy it from the Google Store.

What's really interesting is that no carriers have started selling it (at least in the US). If phone sales become uncoupled from phone service, I expect to see some waves in the wireless industry.
