faulty earpiece

ive got a 6 month old nexus 5 x and when someone on the other end talks the earpiece buzzes. it sounds like the earpiece is blown. only time it stops is when the volume is down to 30%. ive tried changing the earpiece with one i got off ebay but its exactly the same. anyone else had this problem? i dont really want to send it back to the company i bought it from (eglobal central) as the reviews of their customer service is terrible

Do you hear the buzzing using wired or Bluetooth headphones, or over the speakerphone?

havent tried any bluetoth headphones but normal headphones are fine with no distortion at all. loudspeaker is also fine. i could try replacing the earpiece again :S

I wonder if it could be something near the earpiece speaker, rather than the speaker itself--maybe a loose part somewhere?
