Tap Awake for Nexus 5X??

I switched from an LG G Stylo to the Nexus 5X several months ago and really miss the ability to double tap the screen to wake up my phone. Is there any way add that feature to my Nougat powered Nexus 5X?

I found this over at XDA... You have to root and load a custom kernel, but it's possible.

I don't think this was originally made to work with Nougat, so you might want to look around for an update or head over to XDA to confirm this actually works with Nougat FIRST.

I feel I should also add here that you probably should not attempt this if you are not comfortable with rooting, flashing or anything in the instructions. You can make your phone unusable and this sort of thing typically voids warranties .

I just updated to the elementalx kernel and not only is beloved DDTW back but I think the kernel helps fix some performance lag too. I'm in Nougat. If you use the Nexus Root Toolkit it's really easy.
