Google Play Services fried my Nexus 5X

I wanted to see if anyone else is having problems with the latest Google Play Services update dated November 30, 2017. I realize that my 5X has been going strong for over 2 years (got it just after release day). That was until last week when Google Play Services updated. Since then my 5X battery has died in less that 8 hours when it hadn't been dying even after 12 hours. Now it is stuck in a bootloop that I can only imagine was caused by this rogue GPS update. I don't expect to be able to revive my 5X. This is basically a eulogy to the best phone that I ever had. Thanks for reading.

GPS didn't cause the bootloop. It was caused by a well documented hardware defect in the 5X. Just do a Google search and you will find lots of articles on it.

I am well aware of the hardware defect. It is my belief that the out of control processor usage by the recent GPS update caused the defect to manifest itself in my device. I had never had a single boot problem prior to this.
