Did anyone get nexus protect along with their purchase? I'm looking to purchase my nexus 6p this week but they're selling out like hot cakes, if I wait another week there probably won't be any left.

Yes I did. In my opinion the cost was a little on the high side but it allows me to carry the phone with the most minimalistic bumper/case/skin. One may also recover some of the cost during a resale if one were to upgrade before the two year expiration of the service since its transferable.
It's much cheaper than insurance through a carrier.
I believe it's even cheaper then square trade as well.

Nope.
I usually go through my insurance carrier for my phones, but this is actually a decent deal. Through my insurance carrier, I pay $36 a year for coverage (only accidental hardware damage though) with a $100 deductible. When there is a claim, they just issue a check, which is great when you're in the !market for a new phone, but if you need a replacement right away, the process I believe takes 2-3 weeks.
With Protect, from what I've read, it's $89 one time for the coverage with a $79 per incident deductible (limited to 2 incidents over 2 years). And IIRC they send the phone out the following business day after you report it.
Crunching the numbers over a 2 year period, 1 incident would cost me $172 through my insurance company and $168 with protect. If I had 2 incidents, it would cost $272 through my insurance and $247 through protect. My insurance has no limits on replacements ( although I'm sure my rate would go up after too many) but protect allows you to transfer it's protection if you sell it, and replacements would arrive much quicker as well. So for me I'm going with Protect.
Generally I believe in self-insurance for electronics including phones (using cases or bumpers & screen protection) and I probably have $1,000+ still in pocket from 'protect/insurance' type payments I didn't make over the years. However, I don't want to make this large phone any bigger with a case/bumper and I decided the risk handling this naked metal device is sufficient to buy the nexus protect.
I am on the fence on to keep Nexus Protect or cancel it. I ordered it along with my Nexus 6P. Is there any way to cancel it without completely cancelling my phone order?
No, you have to cancel the order.
Depending on how long you keep a phone it could make resale value higher. The nexus protect stays with the phone even if it changes owners.
I'll stick with it then. It isn't that much for some piece of mind and if it helps resale, that isn't bad either.
Anyway to get nexus protect when buying from the huwai store or am I sol?
I actually canceled my first order and ordered again with google protect included. As a result it will be a small eternity until I get my phone...
I don't usually get insurance but since there is no option to purchase after the fact but you can cancel within 30 days for a full refund I figured I might as well. I hate cases and as long as the Nexus 6p isn't too slippery I'd like to try just having a screen protector. I also am currently using a Nexus 5 with a busted screen so I felt the investment was worth it.

Nope, don't need it. And never needed to replace a phone. I upgrade every year. Don't see a value here except "peace of mind".
I ordered without at first, then canceled and reordered with protect. I've had my Moto X replaced twice in the last year, once for a drop and once 2 weeks ago when it was stolen at ACL. I don't break phones often, but $89 is less than I'm paying Verizon to replace the damn things.

Yeah I got it, I'll see if I want to keep it. Anyway we can cancel within 30 days for full refund or later anytime with prorated refund. Thought better to order with protect and then decide later to keep it or not.
I like your plan.
I did and if I feel that I don't need it I can cancel it. There is zero reason not to get it.
I got it also. It seems like a good desl for what you get, and it's cheaper than Applecare. I also originally ordered without it, then canceled and reordered with it, and a different color.
It's one of the best deals out there. VZW charges $11/month for the plan which is $266/2 years and with a $200 deductible. That's $466 if you keep the phone for two years and you need to get a new one. Google is $89 and I think it was $79/claim.
Nope, got phone through Huawei site when Google was sold out. Hopefully I don't break it.
