Hey All -

Not sure what happened here, when I got my Nexus 6P there were total of 9 icons on the home screen (Google, Create, Play, Play Store, Phone, Messenger, App Folder, Chrome and Camera) somehow the "Create" icon is gone, factory reset didn't restore it either.

Two quick questions please:

1) How do I bring back that Create icon (and whatever was behind it)
2) Shouldn't a factory reset have restored that since it was there out of the box?

Thanks

never heard of create. was not present on my homescreen when I got 6p either.

but lets try and solve your issue.

go to your app drawer, is the create app (icon) there? if so, simply tap and hold/drag it to the homescreen.

if not, is it an actual app itself, or was is it part of another app?

was it a widget? if so long press the homescreen and select 'widgets' and restore it from there.

"Create" is just the name of a folder containing the following apps... Docs, Keep, Sheets, and Slides.

Thanks - any idea why it was there out of the box but did not reappear after a factory reset? I thought the purpose of a factory reset was to return the device to an out of the box state.

Thanks again

Google now launcher saves your icon layout so after a reset Google now launcher will try to restore it from the backup.

Just put those apps into a folder and name it "create". Won't answer your, where did it go, question though.
