Anyone know how to stop the Google bar from adding previous searches below it? It gets really cluttered.

The only way I've been able to get this to work is if I turn off Web and app activity, but that also deletes all my cards??
Anyone know how to keep the cards without the search history?

Yeah that much is clear but before the latest update I was able to keep my cards and not have the history rack up below the bar. Weird.

I've always had this problem. I just got in the habit of going in and deleting my search terms during the day. With htc, I think there was a one click method but it's been too long for me to quite remember. With chrome I just do it one by one.

I too am wondering about these mysterious searches that stay here, versus being removed when clearing my history in Chrome. Also, my past Google Bar searches show a clock symbol to the left; long press and I get the option to *individually* delete these entries, but can not find anywhere in Settings to globally delete these. CURIOUSLY, when I delete my Chrome History, these searches appear there, with the colourful 'G' symbol but when I clear Chrome's History, they still remain in the Google Search bar history. I am also helping someone who CAN NOT delete the Google Search bar past searches by long pressing on the search item; no menu appears to delete. Also, his phone does not have the clock symbol next to the search; his symbol is a diagonal jagged arrow.

This is a screenshot of my Google searches. Note the Clock symbol to the left of the past search; my friends symbol is a diagonal jagged arrow, and he can not delete his entry.
