Hi there. Thinking of trading my LG G4 for a nexus 6 or 6P. I'm still not sure which I'm leaning towards and have read up on the differences. Main concern with the 6 is that it would be supported for less time, I suppose, but it's hard to know. Anyway, I read somewhere that the 6 was noticeably better than the 6P on the edge of T-Mobile. Does anyone have any experience with this, find it to be significantly true or having any reception issues with T-Mobile?

    Thanks for any advice,

I wouldn't do a 6 at this point, it's two years old so it won't be getting much in the way of updates, it will get N but I doubt it will get O. The 6P will definitely get O. The next generation of Nexii is coming in a few months, there is a rumor that it might be as early as August but if the keep to their usual schedule it will be in the fall.

I've had/have both and while I loved my nexus 6, I wouldn't use it over my 6p. The one thing that I think that once you get used to, you will not want to give up is the fingerprint scanner. Typing in passwords is such a PITA now when I do use it, even with LastPass, just putting in my pin seems archaic.

I've not noticed any reception issues with either one of the devices. They both have phenomenal radios.

My 6P, on Google Fi, seems to live mostly on T-Mobile. I'd have to say that there are places where my old Galaxy S3 got much better coverage on Verizon, but for the most part I can't complain about the Fi coverage (again, mostly using T-Mobile [pretty much always Band 4]). YMMV.

I had a prepaid T-Mobile account for my N5 and then an N6P before switching to Project Fi. I never experienced any issues with the T-Mo service. My N6P is on T-Mo 100% of the time and it works fine. Forget the N6 and get the N6P. It is worth every penny. You can save $50 if you order one before Father's Day.

Aside from price considerations, there's absolutely no reason to choose a Nexus 6 vs the 6P. Everything on the 6P is better.

6p supports T Mobile's new band 12 which gives better building penetration. It also supports wifi calling. Both those are super helpful on T Mobile. Don't know if the 6 supports those things?

The 6 supports both of those, I had the 6 (bought from T-Mobile themselves) now own the 6P.
