August update rolling out early?

I just had an update. August security update is dated Aug 5th. Prep for N?

I wonder why some people got it early. I haven't checked and probably won't check until 2 weeks like usual.

I never see it this soon. Usually by the 3rd week.

I never get the updates this early either but I got it on both my Nexus 9 and my 6P today. Not complaining at all! Hopefully the next one and Nougat will be just as quick! Still waiting on my Nexus 7 but I usually get that one first. Go figure.

Same here. Usually always got the update on my Nexus 7 first and like the 6P, usually mid month. Received the update for my 6P today. Cleaned the cache and I'm good to go.

Another member of the "I never get the update this early" group, yet I have mine installed already.

I wonder if Google is feeling more confident with the OTAs and is being more aggressive with the pushes.

I usually don't check this early but reading this thread I did check ,,no OTA
So ok I'm not part of the "early group receiving the OTA early"

Got mine on my 6P yesterday. No sign of it for my N9 yet. This is a LITTLE bit early for me to receive the OTA's, but not far from normal.

Got mine tonight, UK phone but currently in Cyprus. Bit earlier than the last few months.
