Wifi Assistant

I've never seen the VPN key symbol in my status bar and have had wifi Assistant ever since it became available, all settings are turned on. Has anyone else experienced this.

Yep I use it everyday at work on the open wifi network

I've seen it a few times. It is only supported on Google vetted public hot spots.

I'm in and around Boston every day, you would think that Google has some hot spots around Boston

If you go to Starbucks, any location, it'll work there.

I go to a Starbucks on a daily basis and WiFi Assistant has never automatically connected me to SBX wifi at any Seattle area Starbucks location. I always have to sign in to get a connection.

I wouldn't set foot in a Starbucks, but I don't believe the assistant works or is designed to work for WiFi spots that you have to sign into.
