Cant sync the new oneplus 3

so the phone arrived installed everything.
plugged into my pc installed the one plus driver.
aand i hit a road block.

i cant copy / drag /sync music or other files to the fhone.
when i open the phone under devices and drivers it is completely empty
cant copy files there cant drag
windows media player cant sync to the device
wondershare mobileGo doesn't seem to connect to the one plus either
and i did restart my pc and phone and reinstalled the driver
the phone is updated and update

so my question am i doing something wrong here / is there a solution for this
this is my first android fhone so might missed something.

windows does indeed detect the phone as drive but i cant do anything with it

Unlock your phone and open the notification drawer. It should show a notification that says "connected to USB for charging" or something to that effect. Tap it and select "USB file transfer".

Should be readable/writeable now.
