30 GB of my OP3 are taken up by mysterious Images and I can't find out where they are. Are there file managers that allow me to view the folders including sizes without rooting the phone?

I have all my photos and videos backed up through Google photos, and erase backed up media regularly, so this is not the reason. There must be a folder somewhere that Google photos can't see that stores huge amounts of media.

But when I look into storage under Images in the settings there are only four folders that contain a relatively small amount of storage (about 2 GB total).

    Try DiskUsage.

Using your file manager, look for a /DCIM/Camera/.thumbnails directory, and see how big that is (using the Properties command).
