Wanted to get you all's opinions and experiences with the sensor so far.

For me and my workflow, with my phone on a stand at my desk, having the fingerprint sensor back on the front has been an unexpecting QoL improvement. I was (and still am a bit) worried that I will miss the convenient sensor on the back, but so far I have not had a bad experience in everyday use, and am enjoying it being on the front in situtations I wasn't expecting.

I have had more fingerprint rejections than I am used to. I do think the sensor is getting fast the more it is reading my fingerprint, but sometimes it is like the sensor doesn't like the way I set the finger down. If you had to have me put a percentage, I would say 5-8% rejection rate.

Overall, I think the advantages of having the front face sensor, while also keeping edge to edge display, has been more valuable to me than the capacitive back sensor. Let's see in another month or so if I have the same feelings.

I like it but I'm so used to having it on the back 6 days later I'm still smudging up my camera lens. It's fast enough, and the face unlock is an automatic backup for when I fumble it up. It does seem to get better over time but I still have issues with my non prime fingerprints. I have redone them and adjusted the read angle and it is better, but my main fingerprint reads much better.

So far this fingerprint scanner has been a nice experience for me. It's actually fast from my use of it. I do find myself putting my finger on the back of it, as if Its a scanner on the back like on my note 8. I think I will adjust to it soon though.

I found sensor worked great when I got it but it seem to be getting worse.Which is strange because I heard it gets better with use?? I tried redoing and adding double fingers. Still seems weak.
Thak God the Facial is instantaneous, I like that.

Been fantastic for me so far, but the face unlock is legit. All the credit Apple gets for their face id, this thing is ridiculously fast.

Indeed. On thing I wish it was more secure. I love it though!

I honestly don't care that it's not as secure as Apple. It's just an unlock. If someone wants to a) steal my phone, and b) use a print off of a picture of me, more power to them.

At least the FPS is secure and can be used for secure payments and passwords. Really, that's the best of both worlds. Unlock fast and secure FPS for when I need it.

I feel the exact same. If someone steals my phone, within 5 minutes I'll have wiped the phone with Find Device app.

I'm also coming from an LG G6. Very pleased so far with the upgrade. The G6 was a great phone for the 18 months I had it. Really glad i got an unlocked phone this time I as opposed to a carrier tied one.

I know it's got to be all in my head but my fingerprint scanner seems faster if I use a scanner animation other than the default one of "cosmos". Regardless it's a nice touch to have different options

Mine works pretty well. Definitely not as fast as standard one but for new tech it works well. I'd say works 80-85% of the time. Other time you have to put your finger down twice. I'm happy with it. I prefer the sensor on the front as opposed to the rear and for a new technology I'm not disappointed.

And bonus I think it looks cool. Lol

Interesting. I'll have to remember that if I end up picking one up.
