One area that OnePlus are not afraid to try is new ideas and innovations. Since the days of the OnePlus 3 they have incorporated the, "OnePlus Laboratory", in their firmware with a view to trying out new features for ordinary users as this is in addition to their forthcoming, "Open Beta", firmware programme.

The same applies to the OnePlus 6T. You can access the, "OnePlus Laboratory", by going to...

Settings > Utilities > OnePlus Laboratory

Here you can currently find, "Smart Boost", for you to test and which they describe as follows...

"Based on your daily usage, Smart Boost takes full advantage of the large RAM of OnePlus phones, which improves the performance when loading apps and games"

Go ahead and give it a go... what have you got to lose?

Really? It works just great on my global model. Saves on battery and loads apps quicker. How long did you test it for?

tested for a few days, and saw zero difference between it on a int. version, and not on a t mobile version
this phone is so fast, that few, if any tweaks will make any noticeable difference..

Every little bit helps as they say. It seems to have improved over the last 4 updates. Besides, it is good to have the choice with the OnePlus Laboratory to test Smart Boost and other new features, when they arrive, for yourself. It is one of the aspects of OnePlus that first attracted me to them.

sometimes, the overhead that apps like that put on the phone negates any of the benefits you might get..

That's what the OnePlus Laboratory is all about. Getting users feedback on news apps, features and innovations. Besides, if you don't like it, just turn it off. Some of the stuff that was in the OnePlus 3 and 5 Laboratories is now incorporated in the 6T. It's just great to have the choice!
