Hey Everyone, been awhile since i visited the forum. I'm a day 1 buyer of the 6T. Had an unfortunate drop the other day and got a small crack on the very bottom of the screen. Barely noticeable, but at some point when work slows down I plan on sending it in to get replaced (i bought the OnePlus Care accidental drop plan).

Anyone have experience with the turnaround time?

Also, as a by-product, since I already have a crack in the screen, i decided not to use a screen protector until I get a screen replacement. And good grief is the experience is so much better. I was using the Flip Case when it broke, so I think I'll just keep using a more protective case and no screen protector from now on.

Ask if they can send you the replacement first and put a hold on a credit or debit card until they get your old one back. (Google does it that way if you ask.)

I don't know if it'll be a full replacement. Assumed it would be just a screen replacement.

There are some horror stories in the OP forums about the repair/replacement process. Made me hesitate to send my 6T in for repair even though I have the accidental damage coverage (dropped it while in a OnePlus case and now there's a small spiderweb top back corner on the Sim slot side) I think I'm just going to live with it since it doesn't seem to affect the device. Maybe put a dbrand skin over it.

I will say for the first week and a half I was nervous. I sent it in, and when they received it, I emailed Servify, and they responded that they didn't have the parts necessary to fix it at the moment. I stayed in contact every few days, and to their credit, they responded within 12 hours of every email I sent.

I was about to really lose faith and call and try to work up the management ladder, when I got an invoice to pay the $49.99 deductible for screen repair. I paid it on a Monday (or Tuesday?) and the phone arrived that Friday, for a total of 2 1/2 weeks total turnaround.

Interesting note as well, I just had two small cracks on the bottom of the screen, but I did have a small ding on the outside metal part of the phone, so when I got the phone back, it was easy to see that they gave me a completely different phone. My assumption is that they decided it was better to replace the device than wait for the parts to fix it? Who knows. I'm sure it's refurbished, but it doesn't have the cosmetic flaws that my drop caused the frame, and it has worked perfectly, so if nothing else I bet I got a phone with a battery that is a year fresher than the one I sent it.

All in all I will say it ended up a positive experience, and their communication at least kept me in the loop. For my future phone I probably will pass on the $155 care plan + $50 deductible and just take it to a ubreakifix store and have it repaired out of pocket if it happens to break.

Had to go by a Ubreakifix for my wife's pixel screen replacement, and i asked if i had to fix my 6T out of pocket it would have been $230. The plan i bought for 2 years was 155 plus 50 deductible, so not much difference.

The OnePlus care will replace the phone for other issues, so it's not just for broken screens. As with all insurances, it's definitely not worth it, until it is. Just thought i would update for anyone else that would stumble on this thread.
