Looks like they've started pushing out the Android 11 update to the Sprint/T-Mobile OP8 variant. Anyone install it yet? I am a bit hesitant to install it right away, as major releases always seem to leave me disappointed and slow my devices down. I know the 8 has a high-end processor, so it shouldn't be a problem, but I'd still rather wait until I hear some good reports from others. My biggest concern is Android Auto. I read about lots of issues with it after Android 11 upgrades, and I bought a new radio for my truck specifically for Android Auto use.

I downloaded and installed yesterday. So far so good... but that is my experience after less than 24 hours. I was very hesitant about it and am still nervous. I hope it is ok.

I Installed it on Saturday, no issues so far. I was hoping for the AOD to be included, maybe the next update?

Are any of you using Android Auto? That's my biggest concern. That's the whole reason I bought the head unit I did for my truck.

So I did my first real test of Google navigation on AA on Friday, and it wasn't good. When I searched for a place and selected directions, it showed three options, but the routes were not highlighted on the selection screen or while navigating, no matter how many times I closed the app and re-did the search. Finally I gave up and used Waze, which worked fine. I tried Google Maps again partway through, and that time it showed the route, but I cancelled it. When I got where I was going and unplugged the phone, it was very warm and there was a temperature warning - actually it said device temperature was back to the safe range. It's never done that before. Also the phone still had a persistent navigation notification shown that didn't want to go away. I am really disappointed right now. Normally I would also stream music while navigating, but didn't this time, and it still made the phone really warm on top of the other issues.

Update was destroying my battery. Had to disable chrome. It was the culprit. Phone is now buggy and often freezes. Not thrilled

After clearing the cache position from the bootloader menu, it seems better. Android Auto had been working better as well.IMG_20210209_141127.jpgIMG_20210209_141139.jpg

Having Always on Display would be really nice... But evidently it's not going to happen.

Fixing the bug of connection/call issues would be nice too. A lot of times when I try to call out, the device just hangs up.

Installed the February 1 update just now and it screwed up just about everything. Gmail does not work - it force closes upon opening. Rollback of Gmail updates is of no help. Even the AC forum app force closes. About half the apps no longer work. Unfortunately, OnePlus support was unable to roll back the update, and made me do a factory reset. PITA.

Uninstall updates to the Android System Webview in Play Store app. Seems a fairly common problem across multiple devices. It started for me today around 5PM and installing the updates for Android System Webview stopped it.

DOH Sorry man! I just finished reading your reply saying they had you factory reset. That'll uninstall the update too I suppose.
