Gotta say, after returning the 7 Pro last year because I wasn't happy with the camera, I'm pleasently surprised by the improvements made this year.

This is a screenshot of a panorama I took of this tree growing out of a rock. I couldn't get far enough back to get a shot of the whole thing, so I used the trick my 14 YO daughter showed me the other day of using panorama mode vertically. Google Photos wouldn't let me rotate it, and I didn't think to try one of my other apps, so I just took a screenshot and rotated that. I haven't studied every single detail, but I think it turned out really good!

The 7 Pro was already very serviceable for me except for sharpness and it seems OnePlus really hit the homerun this year. Love it.

You switching? Which iPhone 12 ?
12 Pro. With iOS 14, Apple finally incorporated enough of Android flavor and customization with resizable widgets that actually reminded me a lot of Windows Phone live tiles to keep me interested because I tried the 11 Pro earlier this year and it was really too restrictive for me. At least with PiP which was also my must have Android feature, I can finally get some multitasking done and I just get the feeling the high refresh rate screen and cameras are really going to be a beautiful thing on iPhone. I already like the rumored designs. I'll still have my Pixel though.

Nice , Ive always had iphones along side my andriod, looking forward also on iPhone 12 .
I'm currently running ios14 on my 11pro , like what Apple done . I mentioned this last year if Apple start letting customization within its closure andriod going be in trouble. Its just taking little longer but they will get there .

Gave up on the Xperia?
Yep. Decided to invest in an actual camera instead. Sony a7iii and most likely the Tamaron 28-75 f/2.8 lens. Still my phone of the year but not for $1200 outright and missing features that competitors already have like night mode. Also unfortunately Sony decided not to go with using the telephoto for portraits which puts the Xperia1 ii in the same category as the LG V60 which I also returned and the portrait mode suffers from the same lack of HDR in that mode.(it's like LG and Sony got together on that feature lol) But that's an absolute deal breaker on any phone for me when I'm out with my kids. In fact Apple and OnePlus are the only ones that give you the option between wide angle and telephoto portrait modes which is the best option actually IMO.
