Root it for her and install slimkat or something

It is a possibility. However, the last time I did it in a LGx2, I found it difficult to find ana ROM that was not sluggish...
Moreover, I am sure she also would like something new and stylish ;-)

How are you finding the Oppo find 7? Did you root it or are you using the Color OS on it? Haven't seen much about that OS so I am interested in any feedback.

I like it so far, I tried color OS for a few days, but didn't like it that much. I tried running CM11 but when running cm and color OS the partitions are all weird so I switched to the unified Gummy ROM which is very similar to CM11. Still a couple of bugs with gummy, but happy with the purchase.
