Why are keypad tones not working during phone calls?

I am new to OnePlus, new to Android, new to smartphones, so I apologize for my ignorance if that is the cause of my problem. When I make a phone call and need to input numbers to respond to questions or a menu, I can press the numbers on the keypad and they show up on my phone . . . but they send no tones and so, of course, no signals are received at the other end. I have just updated to the latest lollipop software. Can anyone help me?

Welcome to Android Central! Go to the Phone/Dialer app's settings, and look for an option for DTMF tones. Make sure they're turned on, or set to Long.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't see any option on the OnePlus One for DMTF tones. There is an option for Dial pad tones, but it was already toggled on. Nonetheless, I toggled it off and on, restarted the device . . . and all seems to be working!
