My Moto G4+ vanished a week ago and it had been paired with my Bluetooth headphones. I'm using my opo as a spare phone while I decide what replacement phone to buy.

I cannot get the opo to recognize the BT headphones. They just won't show up at all.

Is it hopeless? Do I have to buy another pair of wireless headphones? Thank you.

Have you had issues connecting other BT devices to the Opo? If not, then make sure your headphones are, in fact, in pairing mode. Otherwise the phone won't see them.

Thank you. This is my first experience with Bluetooth, I never used it before I got these headphones. I think the headphones are in pairing mode, I'm pressing the same button I did to pair them with my lost phone.

I guess I was wondering if there was some sort of unpairing I could do, to make the headphones show up on the opo. It was wonderful before I lost my phone, really need to have wireless headphones. Now though, if I can't get them to pair with the opo, they probably won't work with a new phone either.

Sounds like the issue is with the headphones. If you don't have the instructions, look up the model online. Just make sure you can put them into pairing mode (unless you really can't see any BT devices in your phone, then there might be an issue with the BT radio in it)

Thank you, SpookDroid. I'll try again soon. Yesterday I found an article that had as the last resort deleting the data from Bluetooth Share system app. I was afraid to try that.

Yeah, I'd make sure that the headphones can pair with anything else rather than toying with deleting data on your device.

Here's what worked: I connected/paired my opo with my wireless headphones via NFC instead of Bluetooth. They're working, yay!!!!

But I guess now I should not consider buying a Moto g6 since they keep omitting NFC from the motogs. Everything else is higher in price.

Just FYI, NFC isn't actually connecting to your headphones, Bluetooth is... All NFC does on headphones is automate the pairing process (automatically puts your headphones into pairing mode, turns BT on in your phone, registers the headphones and pairs them with your phone VIA BLUETOOTH, and connects audio to them).

Still sounds like your issue was putting the headphones into pairing mode, unless the other phone didn't see ANY BT devices.

Thank you, I don't get notifications from AC so I didn't know you posted.

I suspected that the NFC made Bluetooth possible. The Bluetooth came on after pairing the phone and headphones.

When I scanned for my headphones with just Bluetooth and couldn't get them to show up, I was getting my roommates devices showing up. I still don't know why the phone and headphones couldn't see each other.

Because the headphones weren't in pairing mode. When you used NFC, that automatically got the headphones to be in pairing and discoverable and automatically paired with your phone. Without the NFC automation, you needed to put your headphones into pairing mode manually, whatever that method is for your specific headset.
