This is a beta release of CM9 for the Optimus Elite so please don't expect this to be 100% stable. You may get random reboots and lockups or you may not. Before flashing this rom I recommend you make a NAND backup just in case.

What works:

  • Audio/speaker phone
  • Headset/headphones
  • Calls and texts
  • Touchscreen
  • Lights/brightness
  • Offline charging
  • External SD
  • Bluetooth
  • Wifi
  • Proximity sensor
  • Overclocking
  • Tethering using an app called "Wifi Tether for Root Users" from the play store with the settings used in F.A.Q below.
  • Mass storage
  • Camera (Finally)

What's partially working:

  • Data (stuck on 1x but get 3g speeds. Currently setup to always show 3G)
  • NFC (NFC tags and google wallet are non-functional.)

What's not working:

  • You tell me.

Issues:

you may have random reboots or lock ups or you may not.
Google Wallet doesn't work and opening it causes nfc to not work until you do a reboot. Will fix this soon.

F.A.Q
Q. Do I have to format my data?
A. If you are coming from a rom other than CM9 then yes you do but if you are just updating to a new CM9 build then no.

Q. How do I use my external SD card to install apps on?
A. Go to Settings>Storage>Menu button>Storage configuration>and check the box. After that you will need to reboot the phone.

Q. What settings do I use to get tethering to work?
A. Device-Profile: Generic ICS/JB (wlan0)
Change Setup-Method: WEXT (ad-hoc)
MSS clamping checked
Routing fix checked

Want to report a issue you are having with the rom? Then use getlogs.
[APP] GetLogs - Get dmesg, logcat, radio, etc with one click! - xda-developers

Will update this post later

Downloading the rom now. I am assuming, since a dl link was not listed, that I don't need the gapps file, but I wanted to make sure.
Thanks so much for this! I can't wait to see it!

Finally! CM9 for the OE! I'll wait until all the kinks are worked out, but I'm definitely interested in this rom!

How can I get the newest download if my OTA is not wanting to download the update? Is there a page that the releases are on so I can download it manually?

Thank you phenomx4. I just couldn't download it on my phone it wouldn't even come up with a download screen. Aside from that I like to be able to resume downloads in case I lose my connection which happens to me a lot lately. So that is probably why it wasn't wanting to download to my phone.

Great job!!

I have been using it and only revert to the original firmware to use the camera. I keep both versions on a SD card and back/restore to it.

I really appreciate your efforts!

Hey phenomx4 would you happen to be able to get a page set up for the ota updates so if you can't download them through the phone you can just go to the project page that the ota would get them from? If that is possible that would be great so then it can be downloaded through the phone or through a computer.

Re: [ROM][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 06/13/2013

I have actually noticed with almost any rom for any phone seems to not have the camera working on ics or jellybean. I haven't used a lot of phones and flashed them with ics or jellybean only 2 of them. Mostly I have flashed my optimus v lots of times and lots of the time the camera didn't work with ics or jellybean. What I am wondering is what exactly is causing this to happen? Is it that the firmware that is in the rom not compatible with the camera? Or is it that the driver for the camera isn't there and it can't connect to it due to this case? Also is there some way that there could just be some small patch that could be made for the phone that could make the camera work or something that could be done to make it work? If so that would be great. I don't really use my camera on my phone much but it would be nice for it to be there so I could use it. I heard that you can use some app to make it work that basically has its own software and design instead of using the built in camera options on the phone. If someone could put a link up that would be awesome thanks I am really enjoying the rom so far as well as the most recent update keep up the good work.
