No luck installing it here. It hangs on the boot animation.

Btw, does the wired handset works during phone calls with this ROM?

Sent from my VM670 using Tapatalk
Wired headsets work but there is a small bug; you have to toggle the volume to initiate the sound properly. Blarf said he thinks he knows what's wrong not sure when Ath3nos will be able to get it sorted though, either way not that big of a deal lol

no I ment like... can I just go into recovery and do i use the update one or flash from zip and pick the kernel???

cause i already flashed aosp's kernel.. can i just flash xonia over it?
You will go in and choose zip from sd card and actually pick the zip you want to flash; flashing xionia over aosp kernel should be fine as it should just overwrite all the files, probably be a good idea to wipe your cache first though.

Edit: and of course make a nandroid before you do just in case

Edit 2: Go with what Mmarz says about the kernels below he would know more than I in that respect looks like he answered about the same time lol

Um, yes but you'll have a different kernel than if you flashed xionia over the original kernel. Xionia is in the "anykernel" format. That means that it extracts parts of your installed kernel and combines itself with it. The aosp kernel I posted is a whole kernel. I hope that makes sense.

You can test it out and flash over aosp's kernel. It'll probably work just fine. If it doesn't, you can reflash aosp's kernel or reflash the entire rom.

I'm running the original kernel and wifi is fine. Actually, everything is fine. Although, anyone know how to make ringtones louder?

This is why I love the Froyo roms. These Gingerbread roms are like whack-a-mole with bugs.

    Try using this app: http://androidaudiohacks.com/home/wp...ePlus1.7.1.apk

It is just for Gingerbread, but it lets you increase the volume passed the "safe" limits.

I wan more looking for something specifically for ringers and notifications. Don't wanna blow the speaker, just wanna make the ringtones a little louder.

Xionia 14 running super smooth here. Wi-Fi works, MMS not sure. My test MMS got lost in the cloud I think.

Try using the dsp manager in the app drawer. Adjust the settings for phone speaker. It worked for me on aosp and since this built off of that it should work here also.

I'm getting an odd issue. If I don't flash the aosp kernel my wifi works fine. As soon as I flash aosp it quits connecting.

I'm going to remove aosp's kernel from the first page. There doesn't seem to be any advantage to using it.

There's probably incompatibility issues between the two.

Yeah I didn't notice any, in fact with the wifi thing it made things worse lol. Only thing I don't like is the adw being the default system launcher but that's easy to remedy.

I haven't flashed our xionia 14 kernel. Would that have any advantage over the xionia 14 that ath3nos has by default other than being made for our phone?

What's the word on flashing xionia with this rom? I posted them because there is usually problems with the accelerometer or wifi when using S roms on our phones. If the stock kernel works just fine or if the other kernels break things, I'll just remove the links.

I haven't tried out xionia 14 kernel, i assume it's based off our kernel, and not the xionia 14 for the s ported over. I'll try it and report back if there is any difference between ours and theirs.

Also curious if i can use the camera.apk from ath3nos on aosp as it works perfect for me. Auto focus and zoom both work flawlessly.

yep. Camera works perfect! i'd love to know how the kernel works for you. so far, i'm pretty pleased with this ROM. this could be totally unrelated but i find that the apps on my sd card load much faster on this ROM than AOSP. like i said though, it could be completely related to something else.

PS. Battery seems to be pretty good. After calibrating yesterday, I'm running at 97% full after it being unplugged for almost 4 hours. Note: I'm at work and this is mostly standby.

It is actually the same S kernel, but I included modified accelerometer files since the S ones that usually come with S roms don't work on our phones. I also include wifi drivers that should work with the xionia kernel. If this rom already comes with that kernel AND the accelerometer and wifi already work, there may be no reason to flash it.

The Xionia 10 is slightly different because it includes a touch screen fix that 14 doesn't have. 14 mainly has S specific driver bug updates, and so I normally flash xionia 10.

With the camera problem in AOSP, the fix that was posted included more than just the apk. There were drivers that needed to be swapped out too. If you look on the xda thread (several pages in from the end), you'll find a discussion about it.

Yeah as far as I'm concerned this rom is a better option but I'm curious if the camera.apk will work like this aosp.

I haven't noticed any touch screen bugs using 14 so I may as well stick with the default kernel his rom installs until someone posts a reason I would need to flash 14. If it ain't broke don't try to break it.

right? I will agree that AOSP is slightly snappier, but not to the point where it becomes an annoyance on this ROM.

Plus I have found, digging through the cyan settings, that there are some added options in ath3nos. For example it has options to control which directions you allow the orientation to flip. Not an option I use but more options are better.

    Install this: https://market.android.com/details?i...touchpro.tests

and then try using two fingers and move one passed the other.

The bug is similar to this one:

This bug is in every single kernel for our phone besides xionia 10

Hmm...maybe I do have that bug then and haven't noticed since I use one hand for zooming in and out and never move my fingers past one another lol.

Also something that might help others trying to make a gb rom is that it appears the source is available for the gb rom ath3nos is using.
