I'm new to this but i just wanted to ask if anyone has tried the pandora app with the AOKP rom.
I have it on mine and when i started it, it just keeps skipping through all the tracks, at first i thought it was because of the 3g not being fully functional yet but i tried it on wifi and it still just loads to %1 and skips

Is your kang a port of something for the p500 on xda built from aokp source, or is your aokp built directly from aokp source? (I'm asking because I'd like this for the OS and I want to know if I should try to port this or port what you ported from. Does this make sense, or am I being too confusing?)

I believe it's built from AOKPs source if I'm not mistaken.

Everything I release is compiled from source.

Can we see your source? From what I was looking at with other ROMs the 3g issue should be an easy fix.

I'm in the process of posting it. Probably have it done tomorrow or Wed. I'll be releasing alpha 9 at that time or soon after.

If you are impatient, I posted the source for alpha 7 in one of the dev threads. It's rather old now but the exact issue remains.

Its not that I am impatient, I just want to be able to use this mod. I use Google Voice, and without 3G this renders my phone useless. You did some very hard work! I thank you so much! I just want to use it to the full potential that you intended it to be! ^__^

I personally think the 3g issue is kernel based

Just pull the boot.img from the quattrimus zip, and if you go on tdms github, you can find the source code.

coming from someone who has no experience coding android...take this with a grain of salt.

we had luck on the S with data when this line was enabled in the build.prop. i dont know if it will help you guys, but its worth a shot.

    Code:
    #ro.telephony.ril.v3=signalstrength,skipbrokendatacall,facilitylock,datacall,icccardstatus,1
delete the # to make it look like this

    Code:
    ro.telephony.ril.v3=signalstrength,skipbrokendatacall,facilitylock,datacall,icccardstatus,1
I have no doubt it will do nothing, but, hey, worth a shot maybe?

Did this, then rebooted, and my 3G came on right away instead of having to do the radio / data / airplane toggle nonsense. Obviously not conclusive at all, but it's a good sign, right?

    MMS still doesn't work, though.

im guessing it has to do with something in the framework. i have no idea how to fix that, ours just started working last release.

So in case anybody was still wondering, you need a 3.0.x kernel working on your phone before you get the black gradient background in settings and other stuff. Well, either that or full HW accel. But I think it's the first one.

Is there any way we can take the 3.0.X kernel and add a module compatibility layer for our drivers to work? Or possibly build them form scratch using reverse engineering?

To those who want to change their LCD density, I found a thread on XDA that has a soution for the force closes: CM9 LCD Density Change Problem(Solved) - xda-developers

All you do is replace your Phone.apk with that from an LDPI device running CM9, in this case the thread states it's from a CM9 rom for the Wildfire S. Currently running a density of 120 (my preferred setting) and replaced the Phone.APK with the one linked in that thread, and it works just fine.

It's on my github. Or if you meant the binary, extract it from boot.img.
