Hmm, I guess that's more of a reason for me to upgrade to it now.. Even though I'll loose free bootloader access.

(Question: What works perfect now? Stability, freezing, reboots, etc?)

Anyone know if there are any problems with Link2SD, switching between this ROM and BACKside? Does rebuilding the links work OK, or will I have to wipe the Link2SD partition on my card when I switch ROMs?

Since I upgraded to ZV9 (I'm using latest Alpha of AOKP), I get far fewer reboots: I used to have 10+ per day, now less than half that. There's still some general instabilityI am using an alpha OS, after allbut I'm no longer so aggravated that I think of going back to GB several times a day. In fact, I'd say that ICS is nearly as stable for me as GB ever was. I don't know if that qualifies as perfect, but it's good enough for me.

In short, though the ZV9 upgrade was a little bit of a hassle, it went smoothly enough, with nandroid backups, and ultimately seems to have made my installation of Quattrimus AOKP run more smoothly and with better stability.

(Besides, it was fun to run a stock, un-rooted ROM for three or four minutes. Hadn't seen that in awhile!)

If you're phone/ZV5 dislikes AOKP, always try CM9, generally more stable

Link2sd kept force closing all of my apps on alpha 10. You don't need it though, tdm put an app2sd script in the rom

I upgraded to ZV9, got no reboots, better performance. Nothing special.

    Flashed update
    Booted
    Rooted
    Wiped
    Flashed
    Booted
    Tested

    Had no problems.

I don't know if your planning to use the linaro toolchain anytime soon, but in case you didn't know, i have been reading that anything higher than optimization 2 breaks Netflix and some other video services for the time being

YouTube and even Adobe Flash won't be fixed until we get those OpenMax codecs we desperately need for hardware acceleration on our processor. :/

Now you guys are starting to understand me!

Btw, is there stuff missing in the kernel for ZV4/5? It seems to work perfect on ZV9.

The zv4 it says you have is what it came with so thats the info built into the stock rom. It probably wont change but if youre noticing differences then that means it stuck

First of all, congratulations to tdm for the amazing rom, and to all you guys for testing it, coming from IHO looks like an amazing improvement :-)

Now, my problems. I'm running CM9 latest alpha with ZV4 baseband:

    1) Slow scrolling: in some applications (e.g. facebook news feed), scrolling is terribly slow. It starts fine when you run the application for the first time, but as you keep scrolling, you quickly get to a point where it takes a couple of seconds from the time you swipe your finger on the screen to when the news feed is actually scrolled. I tried playing with "force gpu rendering" and "surface dithering" settings, without success.

    2) Rendering gone: very frequently an email in gmail/article in greader/other item in facebook is not rendered anymore on the screen when you start scrolling it (you just get a white page instead of the content), and there's no way to get back unless you kill the application

    3) I keep getting "unfortunately, google play store has stopped", and I tried clear data/clear cache/uninstall updates/reinstall market/... without success.

Thank you all for your hard work!
