I ran AOKP alpha8 for a week and it was nice. Would have kept using it, but it was a bit too unstable. I didn't have much problem with wifi or 3g though. Will flash alpha9 once it becomes available.

OK, got AOKP v8 working pretty well. Can someone tell me how to change the boot animation? I noticed that I can not turn off the boot animation in the ROM Settings (turns right back on) so I thought I could at least have a nicer one than comes with it.

just go download the custom rom you had before and flash it. I assume you all ur apps backed up and if not, sucks to be you.

I had this problem once. But after another try, it worked. Try again. Or a couple times. Worst it can do is well, not work again.

Here's Root Permissions and Superuser for AOKP:
Superuser-3.0.7-efgihi-signed.zip

) Just Flash in recovery. Confirmed working.

Without root, Performance options in ROM Settings won't work.

@tdm could this please be added to the OP! It would make it much easier, when someone flashes aopk, and lose root!!

Also the ICS gapps for the play store to work. Flashed rom, gapps, superuser, then rebooted and everything worked fine for me.

Yes I'll be releasing alpha9 sometime this week. It will have an updated AOKP with the Superuser package this time. I will test the 3G related properties to see if they make a difference. If they don't negatively impact anything I'll put them in for testing.
