Introducing SLiDERoM


What is it?

it's a rom built from stock 2.2.1 to look like the mytouch slide
All bloat has been removed
new widgets, wallpapers, mytouch music, faves, sense clock
overclocked

How To Flash
download the rom place it on sdcard
reboot into recovery
wipe
flash rom

How To Apply Themes
download theme pack
unzip it
choose one of the themes inside and place on sdcard
flash the theme no wipe and your good

Problems or issues you might have
only problem you may have is when you flash theme after theme after theme
I encountered this problem after three themes in a rom.
Just to be on the safe side let the phone boot once before applying a theme

Great ROM idea!

I think we need to have more ROMs like this one. The Optimus V community sees the unique phone we have. It has a very generic Android Build once you take out all the VM apps.

When I look at different phones they all have a popular unique ROM that is specific for that phone. Just like how the S has "Nameless" ROM for example. Not trying to hate but I think IMO that we spend too much time on these generic ROMs when we could use good ideas to create an amazing ROM that embraces the uniqueness of the Optimus V.

I know this ROM is based off of the Mytouch Slide but using good visual ideas like this is a step in the right direction. As a community we could build an epic custom theme, wallpapers, a boot animation, and keep adding to the design.

This ROM is a step in the right direction to change how we build ROMs for this phone.
This all considering I was looking for a Froyo ROM that had a great design!
One final thing, I love the Honeycomb boot animation in this ROM most of all.

works well. I flashed the bumblebee kernel and for some reason I can't use set cpu. I also have the 50% signal bug. Other than that this is a pretty solid rom.

I don't know what kernel this rom uses.
Try using the fix that Leslie posted on the forums.
Flash this rom.
reboot
flash the xionia 005 kernel
reboot
flash the bumblebee kernel
reboot

I am going to try this rom and use this method to see if it fixes it.
The new kernels also have an issue with wifi connection due to the crappy ov wifi driver.
not sure if this fixes the 50 signal bug or not but I guess I'll find out.

I suggest using the picasticks kernel I tested it before uploading and it works great with the overclock widget

Only reason I've been using the BB Kernel is that I had trouble getting ext with Link2sd to work on picas. Nice snappy rom. My only wish is changing the icons in the bar but that's what launchers are for. Love the launcher design btw. Don't want to lose the rest for icons. I should learn how to change them in the system if it's possible.

OC widget. Assuming you mean if I add an OC program like setcpu? I didn't have that widget option by default.

I noticed that if I flashed the ROM then immediately the theme it wouldn't boot. (I also flashed BB kernel)

Try flashing the ROM. Then reboot and flash the theme.

You have to extract the themes zip. It has all the themes zipped individually inside of it.

ok cool thanks and i seen theres tethering widget after i searched the rom. is it fully functional? and for some reason uninstaller for root isnt working. su isnt verifying the program flashed 3 times.? any ideas?

edit

figured out why none of the rooted apps worked. had to adb push busybox back into the phone all works now.
