I have modified the Activate Bootsounds zip file. The new audio file is Darth Vader saying: What is thy bidding my master.

The problem is I don't know how to share this file. Also I'm not sure if this needs to flashed at time of a clean ROM install

(What I have done is very minimal. I would love to give credit to the appropriate source, If someone could tell me who to credit)

    Good job.
That is awfully short and will loop, not sure if audio will loop or no, it won't matter if the video does or not.

    To make a flasher,
In the Harmonia 1x threads are links to the 1.3+ statusbar flashers (be sure to use the 1.3+ versions, older ones will not work on newer recoveries).

Download one and modify the zip by removing the statusbar files and add yours in the appropriate place. The actual script does not need modifying, it's generic. You may wish to sign the zip after, but it's not required, people will just have to disable signature checking. To install, just flash from recovery, this does not require a fresh install, but first boot will be slow as it rebuilds Dalvik cache.

Use a place like Mediafire to host/share it.

Do NOT use Harmonia 2x flashers unless you mod the install script, they are different and will delete framework-res.apk, causing your phone to not boot and will require re-flashing your rom or restoring a backup.

I'm not skilled enough to do the video. What I did was extract the Activate Bootsounds files from the IHO GitHub. Replace the mp3 file, then send the files back to a zip folder.

I just don't know how to make this zip file accessible to others who might want it.

Make your own bootanimation (step-by-step guide) | DarkyROM

This seems like a pretty decent/simple guide for it.

Ok, I've got my boot animation zip file. For some reason it won't let me do anything in system/media.

    Ok this is fairly sick.

Thank you leslieann for showing me that guide.

I'm going to repost the files in an appropriately Titled thread

    how I installed it is

    1. copy to SD card

    2. used root capable file explorer to delete old bootanimation.zip from /system/media

    3. used root capable file explorer to move new bootanimation.zip from SD card to /system/media

I'm pretty sure if you flash the activate bootsound zip file more than once, it will bork it due to adding the same block of code to init.local.rc over and over. Might want to give a warning about that where you post this.

Much easier to change the bootsound by replacing the /system/media/android_audio.mp3 file with your darth vader one. Though it is very nice of you to share what you have done with others!

Jerry is correct. If you seach my posts on how to add bootsounds there is intructions on how to fix it. It was discovered during my trial and error.
