Well, I got my new pc ready for building, but my issue is that the ati driver is not fully functional(that I can tell).
While in Eclipse I cannot run an emulator to even test an app or rom, i get and error
Code:
SDL init failure, reason is: No available video device

This method might work for you:
In the main menu, look under System -> Administration -> Hardware Drivers. I think the proprietary driver for ATI is called FGLRX. Look for in the list on Hardware Drivers, select it, and click enable. It will download and install, then it will require a restart.

If that doesn't work, just Google linux proprietary ati driver, and you should be able to find a guide to manually install the driver. It's usually a long an complicated process, although not always, but the more you practice terminal commands, the easier all this becomes (which is something you may or may not already have experience with, I'm assuming a beginner's level of Linux experience on your end, but I could be wrong).
