Re: [ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO

I've been using Launched Pro since May of 2011. The scrolling app dock on the bottom (holds 15 apps) , and the ease of 7 screens which I catogorize, make it hard for me to use another lancher (tried a few).
My 15 most important apps are always right at my fingertips no matter what screen I'm on.
No digging thru the drawer or flipping to another screen.

Re: [ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO

Oh! Now you tell me. I already deleted it along with any other installed system app that I didn't need (browser, live wallpapers, News and Weather, etc.). Made sure not to delete the keyboard or gallery (doing so is bad later on).
Deleted it on the last two installs. Will check it out on next install. I'm installing a different color, deep-deep, theme with each install and then making backup ( have to flash the later half thru the recovery to complete theme).
This will allow me to select a backup with whatever color theme I'm in the mood for that week. There are 6 colors in all.
Have three to go.

What would happen if you delete the gallery? I almost always do and replace it with quick pic, haven't had any issues yet regarding it

Used to eventualy cause fc's and system glitches. Maybe OK now, just not taking chance.
I have noticed though that it seems to work flawlessly with the last two builds and shows more pics than (some I forgot I even had ) Quick Pic, which just isn't showing them at all.
I'll probably get rid of Quick Pic in favor of the Gallery.

It's working better than Quick Pic for me.
Showing pics that Quick Pic isn't.
It's also running pretty smooth and faster than in previous Gingerbread ROMs.
What ever you did helped the 3D Gallery a whole bunch.
I'm keeping it and getting rid of Quick Pic.

Really? I didn't check Gallery3D since a very long time. Time to check it again. Thanks!

Buy the way: Thanks a whole lot for spending all that time to develope this ROM and kernel, and for coming back and making things right when an improvement was needed (even though you where working on ROM's for another phone).
My hat is off to you.

Re: [ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO

i've been using mirage on my LS670 for a while and heard about the entropy fix, so i went ahead and updated mirage from the november build to the 1-29-13 build. everything's stable, and about phone says the kernel is the 012713 kernel, but when i checked entropy_avail instead of printing a number in the thousands it printed a number between 130 and 190, with the entropy increasing to 190 and then dropping back to 130.
it's not really a big deal, but i do wonder if that's a glitch in the kernel or if my phone's just weird :p

edit: flashed the fast-charge kernel, and entropy is still in the 130-190 range. oh well. though is about phone supposed to say that the fast-charge kernel version is 012713?
edit2: fast-charging works, so the kernel is flashing fine.

Hrmm...just tried that entropy checker app and I'm getting 190ish too with the 1/29 build. Going to install Seeder and compare.

Re: [ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO

I didn't change the kernel version after adding the fast-charge mode. So it is still 012713, my mistake.
Try to use the following app
https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...lhosting.checkrandentropyavail&token=C0RCpt3P
it will show you entropy_avail in real time. The entropy_avail number should rise to about 3500 and stay there while you are monitoring.

Using that app I'm also seeing really low entropy results, around the 190-290 range, also on the lastest build and kernel.

The entropy value goes down to 190-200 especially when the phone wakes up but rises back to ~3500 quickly. This is what I see. Keep the app open and monitor the entropy_avail value.

Can you define "quickly?" After two minutes it's still hovering around 200 in the app.

Re: [ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO

installed the random entropy available app.
if i let the phone sit and do nothing, the entropy value stays constant at some value between 130 and 220.
interacting with the phone (touching the screen, pressing buttons, etc.) causes the value to increase, resetting back to 140-ish once the value goes past 210.

I mean about 1 minute with "quickly". If the entropy-avail is not increasing to ~3500 while you are monitoring with the app, this is not normal. Either you don't have the latest kernel or a previous enthropy app/binary is still interfering with the kernel. Here is my screenshot

Re: [ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO

the kernel i currently have is the 1-30-13 fast charge kernel you posted on the previous page. before that i had the kernel that came with the 1-29 mirage build, which i assume is the 1-27 kernel. both kernels reported entropies between 130 and 220. i have not used any entropy apps before; in fact today was the first time i heard about it.
granted i dirty-flashed the 1-29 mirage build over the november mirage build; i'll test a clean flash later if i have time.

Re: [ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO

With latest ROM flashed over previous ROM It never whent over 141 before screen timed out.
With restore of the latest ROM (fresh install) 151.
I don't know if this is due to my three part theme (last part having to be flashed from recovery).

The app was put in internal storage. Screen timeout set to two minutes.

Re: [ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO

I can also see the low numbers (~200) especially after the device is turned on after deep sleep or when I use an app that heavily uses the random numbers such as the browser. But the entropy never stays at the low numbers. I can see that the entropy increases to the level I showed above.

I am not able reproduce your reports right now. Let me search for a possible reason. I will post if I can find something.
