Accidently transferred system app from internal memory to sd card
- I accidently transferred all system apps from my internal memory to my sd card and now my phone will not load past the android screen. I know this was a very dumb thing to do. I intially rooted my phone using gingerbreak. I than downloaded titanium back up followed by root explorer. I now realize I should have researched root explorer much more before proceeding, but in an attempt to free up space I moved all of my system apps to the sd card. I than recieved all sorts of errors so I restarted my phone. It now will not load past the android screen. I am able to access the recovery menu, but that is it. My SD card still has all of the system apps if that will help at all. Any help is greatly appreciated even it is simply a reference to another article. Thanks for your time and assistance!06-19-2012 08:14 PMLike 0

- curtis1973King Of Pantsyou will need to transfer a new rom to your sdcard so you can reinstall ( there are other methods, but far more time consuming and difficult just to move back those system apps,so im offering a quick and painless way to get the phone working properly again..) and get the phone restored. im assuming you did not make an original back up. here is iho backside side rom http://www.mediafire.com/?ajueee33pkom16a download via pc and move it to sdcard. recovery should allow you to mount the sdcard so its accessible via pc. once moved to card, wipe data, cache, dalvik cache then format boot, cache, data and system, then choose zip and install rom. if by chance you did back up your original using recovery, then just perform the wipe/format as explained above and navigate to backup and restore and select your backup from the restore option.

Whenever I attempt to connect it using a usb cord it does not work. I downloaded and transferred the rom to the sd card, but did not put it in any specific file. I am unsure how to proceed from here. I do not know how to wipe data, cache, dalvik cache. I also do not know how to format boot. Very thankful for help so far and any future help!06-19-2012 10:19 PMLike 0

- curtis1973King Of Pantsok,to enter recovery press and hold down home, power and volume down button until the LG logo has disappeared. release and you will enter recovery. im hoping you did install clockwork recovery as suggested after rooting your phone. now, your rom is in root of sdcard and accessible via install zip option, but first you will need to select option to wipe data/factory reset, then select option to wipe cache, then move to advanced option and select it,you can navigate recovery up and down using volume keys, camera button is the select button. now in advanced menu youll see dakvik cache wipe option. select it and perform the wipe. now use back button to go back to main menu, select mounts and storage option. in the next menu ignore eveeything except format boot, data, cache and system. format each of these, and not performing any of the other options. press back key and you are back to main menu. pick install zip option and browse sdcard for the iho backside rom,run it and reboot phone by back key to main menu after rom finishes install, select reboot phone. iho is now installed. ill link google apps in a second for installing those as youll need them. now,if you did not install clockwork recovery, you should still have stock recovery. it may allow you to run iho as an update,i do not know. but you will need to rename it to update.zip in case it will.
edit : if you didnt install clockwork recovery after rooting, which im thinking you may not have. in that case you will need to be prepared to do a number of steps to use adb to get a proper recovery on the phone. i suggest browsing the stickies here and learning all you can about your optimus v. it will save you from problems like this from occuring again and youll learn how to get that v out of the funk you've gotten it in.

I now know I should have, but unfortunately did not do enough research before doing the root. Since I did not install this I do not have access to the advanced features in the recovery menu. How do I proceed since I do not have clockwork recovery? Once again thanks for the help.06-19-2012 10:38 PMLike 0
- I changed the named of the IHO download to update.zip and i tryed installing the IHO by apply sdcard:update.zip and it began installing than recieved the error message
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed Installation aborted
It did attempt the install for at least 5 seconds, which is much further than it had before if that is of any help.06-19-2012 10:46 PMLike 0 - cole2kbRetired ModeratorSo, you should still have access to stock recovery. Get to it by holding volume down, power, and home, and letting go as soon as the LG logo appears.
The only thing I can suggest for you is to flash a fully stock Virgin Mobile ZIP, and the only one there is that you can flash from stock recovery is the ZV9 update.zip. I don't know how well it will boot, because you are rooted, you can't do a wipe data/factory reset before flash. But, it can't hurt to try. It should fix your issues (hopefully.)
Download this zip: http://www.virginmobileusa.com/resources/update.zip copy it to the root of your SD card.
Boot into recovery as instructed above and press 'apply update.zip' (or something similar.)
Maybe Curtis can chime in before you do this, see what he thinks, or anyone else. This just seems like your only option.curtis1973 likes this.06-19-2012 10:48 PMLike 1 - curtis1973King Of PantsSo, you should still have access to stock recovery.
