3G = Frozen Phone?

Whenever I switch to 3G and do a kittle texting, my phone freezes and I can't do anything but let it reboot itself. When in on Wifi, I have no problems. But when I'm on 3G, it all happens.

Ideas? Thoughts? Solutions?

What rom are you on? and does it happen on other roms?

Edit: also a logcat could provide clues if you're able to reproduce it at will.

Happens on all roms. Logcat, idk. Ill try. It happens on the go.

I assume you've tried the basics, such as disabling overclock? Does it happen when 3G is off? If it only occurs when 3G is on, it sounds like you need to check up on what apps may be using data at the time of activation. I'd recommend doing a nandroid, go for a clean wipe / flash without installing any apps or restoring any data, and see if it happens. Do what you can to isolate the problem to as specific a scenario as possible, and if it happens on all ROMs I'd chalk it up to a rouge app.

@Cole, I flash a rom almost every to days now, if not 1, but it has always happened. No overclock, or overclock. Mostly on CM7

@Jonny, Yes, but not the water where it'slike ddrowned. More like 20 minutes of mist.

Edit: last resort you could try changing baseband. Go to zv9 or revert from it depending on what your on now.... Does it happen on stock rom?

I have the same exact problem. Even when no apps are connected, even after all the tweaks, add-ons, scripts..even tried zv9..Nothing has worked.

Stock doesn't do it, no. Ill tinker later. Extremely tired right now.

Phone gets a lil hot.

Phone freezes.

Yep just eliminating possibilities. I've read of ppl having strange things happen with a bad sd card.

Its happening again. Happened 10+ times. Im gonna go to ZV9 and test.

I put it in Airplane mode and started playing a game. No reboots. Toggled Data and 3G started.

So I guess running without the sdcard didn't make a difference?
Well if ZV9 helps we could always go ZVJ. I can help with that if needed.

Idk if it's my over clock or what?! Bad unit maybe? WiFi does it occasionally(once every week about). 3G happens often
