My earphones won't work for my Xperia Play phone.

They're 50/50 skull candy earphones. And I have looked up what earphones are compatible for my phone, there they are. Any one know how to fix them?

I've noticed the same with my Arc S, it seems Nokia and Sony phones have this problem a lot. They use different mic set up than most phones. I can use my Sennnheiser headphones just fine but they don't have a mic. The only mic headset that works for me is the one that came with it..
