Virgin Mobile Supreme (ZTE 9810) - Wifi Hotspot possible?

Yes, I searched this forum for 'wifi hotspot' and did not get any hits.

My old VM Optimus V was rooted and had Harmonia ROM on it. Harmonia came with WiFi hotspot capability.
I got a new VM Supreme phone and it doesn't appear to be able to do WiFi Hotspot. I even rooted the phone, but there are no ROMs that I can find for it.
Is it possible to get WiFi Hotspot to work on this phone?

Have you tried an app like Barnacle? One of the ROM's I used (Quattrimus maybe?) didn't have working hotspot, so I used the app and it worked nicely.

I have tried about 5 -6 different apps on the play store. None of them worked for me. Some of them were just widgets to turn on the 'built-in' wifi hotspot (which there is none).

I haven't found one that works yet on the VM Supreme, or at least I haven't been able to get one to work.

I did try Barnacle. It doesn't appear to use the WiFi. I never see an SSID when trying to connect to it. I never see the WiFi icon in the notification bar. I do have WiFi enabled in Android settings on the ZTE phone.
