Has anyone used both extensively or owned both? I am wondering which one you liked better, why and which one did you keep.

I have the note 4 and work for tmobile I was able to use the nexus 6 now I plan on giving my fiancé the note 4 and getting the nexus 6 camera is better on the note 4 I like pure android and the in the had feel of the nexus 6

i hate big phones thats why i got a.. (phablet)

If you don't mind Touchwiz or would use the S Pen, there's no reason not to get the Note 4. It's battery, camera, screen, and functionality are all better than the Nexus 6.

If you don't like Touchwiz and have no use for the S Pen, get the Nexus 6. The software is infinitely better right now, the camera is not far behind the Note 4 (which is really saying something), and the display and battery, while not as good as the Note, aren't bad in their own right.

Ah how about bigger screen, much better build quality, Motorola cell radios, awesome stereo front speakers, always on ok google feature, etc.

The screen quality, camera, and battery life are close enough to not make a difference to me..

I have the Note 2 and do not mind touchwiz but never use the stylus.

Probably more accurate to state that if you don't use a stylus there is no reason to pick the note 4 over the nexus 6...

I have played with both for hours in stores and the Nexus 6 trumps the Note 4 hands down for me based on the advantages stated above but if I used S pen more I would go with the Note 4...

How is .2 inches -without- on screen buttons really worth mentioning? The Note 4 also has the OK Google feature from any app. The build quality is subjective---a lot of people would take the balanced weight/width, chamfered edges, and removable battery. The only thing you added here of any value was the speakers. They're far better on the Nexus 6.

Instead of playing with them in a store, I own both.

9.3% more screen area and soft buttons are only on screen when you need them and I wasn't referring to style which is subjective but quantitative measures as fit and finish, materials, etc. There simply is no comparison...

Was referring to OK Google via voice from off sceen. Notifications are way cooler too due to ambiant display.

You may own both but you are obviously biased. Note 4 is an outstanding phablet in general and is the better choice for someone that uses the S pen but otherwise Nexus 6 is a slam dunk winner!

I'm not biased at all. I like the Nexus better. I'm just capable of taking my own personal preference out of the equation and call a spade a spade. If you like Touchwiz, the Note 4 is the better choice. If you don't and you have to have pure Android, the Nexus 6 is the best choice. When a device can legitimately say it has the better display/camera/battery, I generally consider it to be the better phone. I just like pure Android enough to like the Nexus better.

The only true measurable difference between the two devices is touchwiz, physical home button and the S pen vs stock android and just a oversized phone with virtual buttons!

More or less. I didn't expect to like the Nexus 6 as much as I do. It's the one that'll remain my daily driver and the Note 4 is on the block to be sold. Curious to see if that video of the S5 with the final build for Lollipop is really as fast as it looks, though. If that's the case, Touchwiz becomes less of a deterrent.

I'm sure Samsung will do a pretty good job overlaying touchwiz on top of lollipop.... I don't fully understand the touchwiz hate! When I had the S3 it was okay.. I played with the Note 3 a lot and didn't feel it was a deterrent or a negative.. I've just always leaned more to the stock android look and feel.... but Some people HATE it with a passion!

Lol I remember you were the biggest hater! Glad to see you finally came around.

On a serious note though, I'm taking this as a major endorsement for the Nexus if it's causing YOU to sell the Note. :)

I haven't owned a Nexus 6, I only played with one in the store for about 15 minutes. From what I saw and experienced, I liked it. I liked it a lot. I love the screen size. I think its a great size for a phablet. Perfect size actually. Speakers sounded really good too. The phone was snappy. I like the way lollipop looks and performs. But I own the Note 4, and I didn't leave feeling that I would want the Nexus 6 over my Note 4. I'm completely in love with my phone. And I may be one of the few that prefers Touch Wiz over stock Android and any other manufacturer skin.

Nothing but Note! A little rim, some backboard, but mostly Note!

Please stop confusing me with threads like this. I actually thought I wanted the Note at one time because I do like to use a stylus (even with the keyboard) and I liked the idea of a removable battery. However, I don't really need all the features in the Note, and I fell in love with the idea of a Nexus phone, without Touchwiz. I will still carry a stylus with me, just not in the phone.

Then you should get the Nexus 6. It seems like the perfect phone for you and its cheaper!

You can't just say one has TouchWiz and leave it at that. Windowed apps, split screen, one handed mode and stuff like that really add to the enjoyment of the Note 4.

Nexus 6 doesn't take advantage of the larger screen with features like that.

Side by side I think the N4 screen is brighter.

Bottom line, they are both da*n nice phones!

I don't really hate it but my main thing with Touchwiz is the way it looks, it's like a fake IOS look. Another thing is how it totally covers up Android. I could understand back during the Eclair, Froyo and Gingerbread days but Android has come a long way since then, especially now with Android 5.0

I remember there was a rumor that Touchwiz was being redesigned, I even saw a sample of it and it looked cool, that was obviously fake.

What's weird is this may be the first year I don't buy a Galaxy Note. Every since it came out, I always get the Nexus phones first, then after a few months I long for the big screen of the Note and end up buying it later.

What color is your Note 4?

I personally don't like the look and feel of touchwiz but I don't hate it with a passion like some....

Google must have done something really good with the nexus to warrant a hot debate between both phones.
That said, TW I can live with on the note 4. It's fast enough for me and I don't get the so call lag some users exaggerate about. Yes the recent app can take up to 2 sec to open the first time but after that it's fast that you can't possibly notice the difference unless you are looking for it. The added functionality of the note like the SD card gives the me the extra storage I need (32+128 GB) now I've all my musics on the go as well as HD quality videos of my little son with me. My wife has the nexus 5 and I know how she has to delete files all the time. As for the screen and battery I think we all know that by now. Not to forget the pen, for some it's only a gimmick but I think it's better to have a gimmick you know you can use when and if you feel like it.

Bottom line, I went for the note bcos it met my need. If pure android is all you crave (that's the only advantage of nexus 6 over the note IMHO) then get the nexus but if you need more for your money then the note is it. Like someone said earlier let's call a spade a spade.

At the end of the day it's just a phone and my preference must not be yours. I can live with that what about you?😎

Nexus is all about the software. We all know the Note wins in terms of hardware. Battery life the Note is better.
