Considering the Moto G4 Play for grandson. Mixed answers as to if Pokemon Go will play on this phone. Some say yes, and some forums say no. Anyone have this phone and tried to play it? It seems to meet required specs for Pokemon Go. It doesn't have compass or gyroscope, would that even matter? Any help wpuld be much appreciated.

Yes, it is supported. Here is the minimum Android requirements to install/play the game:

    Android
    •Android 4.4+
    •Rooted devices are not supported
•Preferred resolution of 720x1280 pixels (Not optimized for tablet)
    •Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
    •GPS and Location Services

The Moto G4 Play provides the minimum screen resolution needed for the app and may have the minimum processing power to run it decently. Meaning, it may not run smooth, especially if you are trying to do multiple things at once.
