I am still trying to figure out if she said, "red" bags or "bread" bags. Back in the day when I was kid, Ziploc bags didn't exist yet and people would wash plastic bread bags and save them for future use.
I just listened to it a few times and she said "bread bags".

In this case, prominence isn't exactly a good thing.
Who would you pick to give the Republican response to the State of the Union address, other than Joni Ernst, Michele Bachmann, or Sarah Palin?

I'd have a Gypsy summon the Ghost of Ronald Reagan, or have Clint Eastwood talk into an empty chair again.....at least entertain me for gods sake....

You should submit your suggestions during the next time you attend a meeting for your local Republican chapter.

Any of them could talk about how all these socialist policies are ruining their lives and America as a whole.
Well, we do have a response from the Socialist Party to the State of the Union address:

    Socialist Party USA (website link)
    SPUSA Co-Chair Stephanie Cholensky

Here's another one from the Libertarian Party:

    Libertarian Party (website link)
Arvin Vohra, vice chair of the National Libertarian Committee

There's also one from the Green Party:

Green Party of the United States (website link)
Jill Stein (facilitator), 2012 Green presidential nominee and co-founder of the Green Shadow Cabinet
Cheri Honkala, 2012 Green vice-presidential nominee and co-founder of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign
Rosemary Williams, Minneapolis housing justice activist
Howie Hawkins, 2014 Green candidate for Governor of New York
    Andrea Merida, Denver-based education activist
Margaret Flowers, physician and Popular Resistance activist
    Medea Benjamin of CODEPINK
    Shamako Noble, Hip Hop Congress

I would have a member of republican leadership. Shouldn't that be the logical choice? You wouldn't match a little league team up against a major league baseball team, right? Then why put up a newly elected junior senator against the top dog of the other party? Seems rather silly. It's not a fair fight!

The State of the Union address, deserves no response. The same ol' same ol' speech for the past 6 years. Pathetic.

    To get an ed-u-men-ca-tion. LOL

On a more serious note though, I have always watched the state of the union speeches no matter who was giving them, right wing or left wing. It's important to see what direction things are being moved and it's only an hour or so once a year. Anyone should be able to handle that.

Maybe the Republicans had a vote within their own party and chose Joni Ernst as a result. It wouldn't surprise me if that's how they decided who would respond to the State of the Union address.

Since you believe it's not a fair fight, do you give more leeway to Joni Ernst with regards to the speech she gave?

No. Because I think the speech should be an actual response to the President. Not just a PSA for the republican party.

And the reason she was chosen has everything to do with her being s woman and everything to do with being from the first battleground state. It's rather transparent. Like McCain when he picked Palin.

The people boycotting him don't listen to him in the first place. The people that listen to him are generally angry white men.

Rush Limbaugh is #59 on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list, earning $66 million as of June 2014. The next person on the list is Jon Stewart, with earnings of $16 million. (Beyonce Knowles is #1 on the list.)

Would you buy a product from a company that advertises on Limbaugh's show?

That would involve me actually listening to him in the first place. His voice is like a set of fingernails on a chalkboard to me. He is a disillusion windbag extraordinaire.

You don't need to listen to Rush Limbaugh's show to buy a product from one of his sponsors. Perhaps you already do without even realizing it.

I'm willing to bet I buy from his sponsors INADVERTENTLY. There are many products out there that I would rather not buy because of what they stand for. Chik-Fil-A is one such place. Some of my co-workers like that place even though they contribute to hate groups. I also have decided to stop taking my aunt to Hobby Lobby since they're also trying to undermine the ACA by proclaiming that it's against their religion to provide insurance that may provide birth control to their workers. I bet they're perfectly ok with corporate sponsored greed, but when it comes to birth control, they suddenly find their moral compass.

Rush Limbaugh will definitely have to do more to win over your full support. For now, he'll have to settle for whatever portion your purchases go towards his $66 million in earnings.

When Rush Limbaugh dies, if Party City is one of his sponsors, I'll be more than happy to contribute. Hell, I might even go to his funeral and turn my back.....
