Buddy of mine is a big LG fan and is looking forward to the V70. He asked me about it and I've only seen some rumored stuff, any confirmed or probably confirmed info on this device?

Is that the expanding rollable phone they showed the demo for? Super cool phone if that's the one, and I believe the future for phones that turn into tablets. That will be the type of phone/tablet combo I'll be wanting. But unfortunately I've read from several reputable sites that LG has decided not to produce it for cost reasons

But multiple other companies, including Samsung, are working on the same idea, so that type of phone is still going to happen... just not from LG.

No but the rollable phone does look quite cool.

The V70 Thinq is basically the high end LG phone, a while back the V series became their premier phone over the G series. The V60 Thinq was actually a pretty good device but of course LG hasn't been pushing marketing as much as Samsung and Apple so most didn't know about it.

I haven't heard of it either... but I'm going to do a little research now... thanks for bringing it up

I absolutely *love* the LG V-series! I may have to check out this phone! Thank you for letting us know about it! The only thing about LG is that their camera performance hasn't been very effective. But I've always loved LG products! I wanted the V30 when it came out too!

Last I heard about LG they are probably exiting the smart phone market, they haven't turned a profit in over 5 years.

Yeah, it is depressing that they ate the underdog in the smartphone world. I personally think they make quality products. If they just upped their cameras and marketing/advertising, I think things would be better for them.

So very sad. I don't even know if I want to read any press about it.

Unfortunately for LG they sort of earned it with the stigma of bootloops even though that was really prevelant in one model. The unsuccessful launch of the Moddable G5 with no real mods offered. The bad marketing decisions with oddball variants in different markets. I left them after the V20 even though technically I did try out a V30 for a couple of weeks. I left them for the Pixel 2XL and 3XL which I enjoyed, but since moved on to Samsung. They don't do everything right either but for my money it's the best option out if you don't mind the price. I think we will see Moto disappear and maybe even Pixels unless they really corner the low end market.

The main problem with LG was the abysmal and/or non existent updates.

Actually I think the main problem was too many main problems.

I definitely see what you are saying. It's unfortunate that this happened but I firmly believe if LG fixed up their marketing and had just a flagship and V-series phone, things would have been better. Even if they had just one mid-range choice, that would have been good.
