Need for WiFi-Enalble Android Platform for Special Application

Hello, everyone!

I joined this forum hoping that someone out there might have a recommendation for a device I'm trying to source...

We have need for a few hundred Android-based devices on which to run a custom app to support a business initiative. The device only needs to be WiFi enabled (do not need phone), have good battery life, an iPod-sized screen (device needs to be small, yet large enough to allow for easy keyboard use), and run Android 2.2 or below.

I've been testing no-contract phones, such as those available via retail outlets, but all the carrier-added options tend to get in the way, and I'm paying for capabilities that quite frankly I don't need. I've searched for industrial-based android devices, but am only coming up with development kits, and board devices.

I thought that heading in the MP3 player direction might be a better option for me, but some of those are a little big, not to mention expensive, especially if I needed to buy in bulk.

Anyone have any ideas, or know of a supplier that I should check into?
