Documents that were held until April 1 are available on the FCC Website
Looks a lot like the CA201L released in Korea.
    Photos: https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplicat...tml?id=1807796
Photos show both a regular and extended battery.
    User manual: https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplicat...tml?id=1807799
The user manual does not seem to discuss LTE / 4G,but there is a "LTE Attestation Letter" in the documents list:

Has the GZ Gear stuff, but no mention of the barometer as in the Japanese GZOne Type L.

Can't access the documents. Any other information on this one? It's a great idea. I need a rugged waterproof phone for when I am outdoors. The last G'Zone was a disappointment. So I'm really interested in this as a backup phone.

Go to the last link above, and you should see the FCC document list for the device. The "external photos" link is about number 4 down, and the user manual is at the bottom. I've been looking around but I have seen nothing about an actual release date. I'm tempted to walk into a Verizon store with the photos and the cover of the manual printed out and ask.

<rampant speculation> Looking at the manual, the cover says "C811 Commando" but the inside of the manual says "GG3," so I think the manual insides are pretty much a draft, or maybe even a 3G Commando Manual , since I didn't see anything in there about LTE or a SIM card </rampant speculation>

I have issued all of my drivers and field techs with the original Commando, and while definitely not a Nexus or Galaxy, it has been a super solid device. My guys abuse tools and equipment terribly, but I have not had to replace a single Commando, for any reason. Looking forward to this getting released this summer, as it will coincide niceley with our next Verizon device upgrade due date.

Its definitely just a draft, as most of the images of the homescreen, apps and other parts of the operating system are left blank. However, if you look at the sections describing removing/installing a battery, you can see they included waht appears to be the sim card holder in the renders. That, plus the LET Attestation letter, and the actual LTE test report indicates it will most likely have LTE. I really doubt Verizon or any US carrier would have any interest in a phone without 4G at this point.

Even more interesting, the document title "Internal Photos" shows a wireless charging cover for the battery.

doesnt seem to have LTE/4G looking at the user manual it only talks about 3G. Look at the manual page 30.

    Connected to 3G mobile
    network Roaming
    3G in use
    No signal
    Connected to 1x mobile network
    Silent mode
    1x in use

I saw that before I posted the links above. I think the manual is either a draft or a C771 Commando manual with a C811 "cover."

I make this guess for three reasons:
    (1) There are two LTE-related documents in the FCC submission, an "RF test report LTE" and a "LTE Attestation letter." If you scroll through the RF test report, it shows LTE Band 13, which is Verizon.
    (2) The two other phones already released similar to this one (the GZ-1 Type L - Japan and the CA201L - S. Korea) are both LTE Phones
    (3) Why would anyone release a non-LTE phone in the current environment?

I have had the commando since it came out. Saw people saying upgrade was coming in Oct. 2012. Now saw it coming April 2013. Now it is still not here. My commando has lasted longer then most without an ad on cover but the software has started to become buggy and the battery charges sometimes and not others. I have waited and waited, asked Verizon and gotten no answer. I think this is Casio and Verizon's biggest fail! They have waited so long I'm going to have to get another phone and I want it to be rugged, so on to another phone and carrier like most others have already done that has had one. My commando already bugged out for a whole day when I couldn't use it. It is only a matter of time before it happens again. Lets not forget that the software was a little behind on the Commando when it came out. This C811 has been at the FCC since before october of 2012 so it only makes me think that when it does come out it will be way far behind, so much so that it won't make by with the "rugged" feature being it's selling point now that other companies are in the game. Now that it is May 1st tomorrow and no one, zero people from either the Casio or the Verizon camp refuse to give any hope for a release or real specs, there is no reason to stick around and wait. Believing this is more a phone that we will never see in the U.S. patients has run out. Hate the guessing game since many of use have been left to play it since October of last year, I think 7 months is long enough to go without saying anything. It is time for them to say something about this phone. Give a date, tells us the processor, the operating system, something. My guess is we are getting nothing because it will all be disappointing news.

I had to go to Verizon Tuesday evening with a SIM card issue in my Thunderbolt, and the guy tried VERY hard to convince me to upgrade. He started by asking if there was anything I had my eye on for an upgrade and acted surprised when I said, "the next version of the Commando," and tried to push me to pre-order an S4. I told him that if possible I intend to pay full retail for my next handset and keep the Unlimited data, something that I am trying to set aside $$ for. Then he tried to start off with the Lifeproof case, and I told him I'm an Android guy, no interest in the iPhone (I don't dislike them necessarily, I just prefer the Android environment).

The idea of a "semi-rugged" S4 that was talked about is appealing, but since I have to wait before I can pay full retail for ANY device, I'll stick with my TBolt until at least late summer, unless it dies completely.

Posts in other places are now saying Thursday, June 6, 2013 release date. I have no idea of their reliability.

My guess is that someone at this site either (1) waded through all the FCC paperwork, or (2) copied most of this from specs for the CA201L (Korean Version): Casio GzOne Commando C811 Detailed Specs | Technical Datasheet | PDAdb.net

Hmm, What's all this, then? "View Accessories for Casio Commando 4G LTE"

Looks like it won't be the "Commando C811" after all.

EDIT: Picture and name in the link have been taken down.

Verizon News Release on the Commando 4G LTE Available this Thursday, June 27. I'll at least go look at it in person.

Casio Commando 4G site (warning, takes a while forever to load)

Link to the manual, in English

Update: $480 off contract. $50 for the 2920 mAh extended battery with cover. $20 for the stock holster.

1.5 GHz dual core, 1 GB ROM, 16 GB RAM, supports 32GB SD card. Casio's site says "cutting edge," which would have been true 18 months ago.

Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, can link to one of Casio's G-Shock Watches (which would have been interesting if I still wore a watch), and it does have an FM radio tuner. Supports Exchange Active Sync.

Standard 1800 mAh battery, Casio says a 2920 mAh extended will be available, as well as wireless charging and a desktop cradle.

Decision point will be the full retail price, whether the S4 Active is available on Verizon when I decide to buy, and how the reviews of the Active go. I might go for the "regular" S4 whenever Seidio gets their OBEX case on the market, even without the FM Radio. Edit - And the VZW S4 Developer edition is available today....
